At RES, we are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Finance & Accounting to join our North American Asset Management team.
Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Finance & Accounting will support the financial and accounting management of a portfolio of client-owned renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects across North America.
This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and accounting activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, month-end close, and period-end adjustments.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting policies.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for project companies and clients.
- Develop variance analyses, budgets, forecasts,
and financial projections for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
- Maintain tax equity financial models and prepare investor reporting packages.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, cash distribution analyses, borrowing reconciliations, and credit support reporting.
- Coordinate financial audits by working closely with asset owners, external auditors, and tax advisors.
- Partner with the Asset Management team to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
- Update and maintain project financial models on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with the Tax Department to prepare tax returns, tax payments, and project tax documentation.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial systems and reporting efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, clients, and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional financial certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;).
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on tax equity experience.
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Experience coordinating financial audits.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting close processes.
- Experience developing and maintaining financial models.
- Renewable energy industry experience preferred.
- Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5–15%).
