About This Role:
We have a high visibility opportunity for anEngineering Managerfor our Kidde Business Unit inNavojoa, Mexico.
The successful candidate mustpossessa strong engineering background, processdevelopmentand technical leadership competencies to successfully support the Detection & Alarm(D&A;)andSignaling life safety product lines.
This position is based inNavojoa,Mexico, and will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
EngineeringLeaderfocal point in the manufacturing floor, driving manufacturingintegrityand supportingthe production line for D&A; and Signaling products
Partner with Supply Chain to proactivelyavoidcomponentshortage or end of life situations that couldimpactthe production line.
Once a shortage isidentified, work withsupplychaintoidentifysecond sources and with Engineering in Bradenton or FCNto qualify/approve new parts and implement in the factory.
Identifycost reduction opportunities.
Lead cross functional workshops toidentifyalternate design solutions,componentsources,automationandprocess optimization opportunities (including injection process, assembly process, others).
New product implementation (NPI) in the factory,working cross functionally to drive speed to market, concurrent engineering (design,supplyand manufacturing)and robust implementation in the assembly line
Develop a lean and agile Engineering team driving the system integration of the D&A; and Signaling products inNavojoa
Manage,coachand develop Engineers underitsleadership
Project Management, driving the delivery of projects on time, at cost and quality
Analyze and drive resolution of Deviation requests from the factory, making sure all necessary tests were performed by Engineering prior to approval
Drive DFMEA, identification of critical characteristics and best engineering practices
Proactive support fortheKidde manufacturing siteand partner with Operations to ensure deliverables integrate into their systems within the overall product release schedule




Drive the Engineering team to make sure that we work with certification authorities for product standards and Laboratory
Develop solutions throughthe complete product lifecycle, frominitialrequirements to design, implementation, test, deployment, sustaining & end-of-life stages.
Use project management skills working as part of a cross functional team
Utilize engineering systems tomaintainand manage project
Required Qualifications:
Engineering background–Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or ProcessEngineeringpreferred
End of Line testexperiencepreferred
StrongEnglishverbal, written and presentation skills
Competencewith MS Office software
This role requiresa greatlevel of interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
5-10years' experience with manufactured products – high volume consumer and commercial goods preferred
Experience with plastics materials,componentsand manufacturing processes
Knowledge of robust engineering practicese.g.
Design and Process FMEA
Mind-set for "Design for manufacture" and cost avoidance
Experience dealing with Product and Quality Management Systems and Product Lifecyle Familiar with UL certification, engineering standards, automotive quality standards and similar quality systems and root cause analysis processes.
Product development experience in life safety products
Excellent communication, negotiating, and influencing skills to communicate technical issues across functions.
Demonstrated experience applying Design for Safetyprinciples to product design.
Proficientin Microsoft O365, including Excel, PowerPoint, & OneNote
Proficient with PLM and Engineering Change Management tools and processes.
Travel Requirements:
Up to10% including but not limited to USA and Mexico.
