As we accelerate the expansion of our state-of-the-art manufacturing hub in Mexico, we are looking for a pragmatic, business-oriented legal partner to join our local Fabric & Floor Care management team.This is a professional support role providing day-to-day legal coverage for our San Luis Potosí plant.
You will execute legal tasks under the direction of HQ Legal and local Operations, ensuring compliance, managing contracts, and handling labor matters.Key ResponsibilitiesContracts & Procurement: Draft, review, and negotiate EPC (construction), equipment purchase, supply chain, logistics, and facility service agreements.Labor & Union Relations: Handle individual/collective labor disputes, represent the company before local conciliation boards (Juntas de Conciliación), support collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration, and participate in routine union negotiations.Regulatory & Customs Compliance: Ensure site adherence to federal, state, and municipal regulations.
Provide practical guidance on IMMEX, VAT/cashflow implications, customs procedures, and environmental permits.External Counsel Oversight:
Manage external law firms for specialized litigation and non-litigation matters, ensuring cost-effective and timely case resolution.HQ & Ops Liaison: Report legal risks and compliance status to HQ Legal, while delivering clear, actionable legal advice to the Factory Operation Head for daily operational decisions.QualificationsEducation: Law degree with an active Mexican professional license (Cédula Profesional).
Experience: 5 years + PQE.
Must have prior in-house or external experience serving manufacturing, industrial, or construction sectors.Core Expertise: Solid working knowledge of Mexican contract law, labor law, and corporate/commercial regulations.
Familiarity with foreign trade/customs (IMMEX) is a strong plus.Soft Skills: Pragmatic, execution-focused, and resilient.
Able to balance strict legal compliance with operational realities in a fast-paced plant environment.
Comfortable taking direction from multiple stakeholders (HQ and local ops).
Languages:Spanish: Native/bilingual (legal drafting proficiency required).
English: Professional working proficiency – essential for reporting to HQ Legal and participating in cross-border calls.
