Faculty positionArtificial Intelligence for Industrial SystemsThe Institute for Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey develops interdisciplinary research that integrates manufacturing, supply chains, and intelligent systems to address complex industrial challenges.The Institute prioritizes strong engagement with industry and society, developing applied research programs comparable to those of leading international centers, such as the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics.Our mission is to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced technologies that transform manufacturing and industrial operations.The Institute invites ambitious and internationally oriented researchers to apply for a full‐time faculty position focused on developing world‐class interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and technology‐based entrepreneurship in Artificial Intelligence for Industrial Systems.RequirementsHold a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Operations Research, or a closely related field.Demonstrate experience in the development and implementation of AI‐based solutions for industrial systems.Have proven experience collaborating with industry partners and/or applied research laboratories.Show the ability to secure research funding and develop strategic industry partnerships.Possess strong written and oral communication skills in English (minimum B2 level).
Spanish is desirable but not required.Research Focus: Artificial Intelligence for Industrial SystemsThe successful candidate is expected to conduct research in areas including, but not limited to:Development and application of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, digital twins,
and intelligent control systems for manufacturing and supply chain operations.AI‐enabled decision‐support systems for industrial and operational environments.Digital twins for manufacturing plants, logistics networks, and supply chains.Industrial data platforms, Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber‐physical systems.Predictive and prescriptive analytics for operations and supply chain management.Faculty ResponsibilitiesDevelop a high‐impact applied research program in Artificial Intelligence for Industrial Systems.Lead collaborative research projects with manufacturing companies, logistics firms, and technology providers.Translate AI research into deployable industrial solutions, including prototypes, digital platforms, and decision platforms.Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in applied research projects.Publish in leading scientific journals while prioritizing industry impact, innovation, and technology transfer.Industry EngagementEstablish long‐term partnerships with companies and industrial organizations.Participate in the Institute's corporate membership and collaboration programs.Lead industry workshops, executive roundtables, and collaborative innovation initiatives.Contribute to executive education and professional training programs for industry.Impact and Performance IndicatorsAttraction of external funding from industry and competitive research grants.Leadership of industry‐sponsored applied research projects.Development of technological solutions, prototypes, and digital platforms.Participation in interdisciplinary flagship projects within the Institute.Location: FlexibleAt Tec de Monterrey, we are committed to the principle of equal opportunities.We value diversity and do not discriminate based on age, ethnic origin, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, social status, health status, religious beliefs, political doctrine, or disability.We believe that a diverse and inclusive environment is essential for fostering innovation and excellence.
