We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate **SEMH Teaching Assistant** to join an **Ofsted-rated Outstanding primary school based in Liverpool.
**
This role involves supporting pupils with **Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs**, helping them to engage positively with learning and develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated and engaging lessons
- Implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies
- Build positive,



trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Support pupils during transitions, break times, and interventions
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Follow safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour policies
**Requirements**:
- Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
