OverviewYour New RoleThe position exists to ensure that the company's content assets are accurately accounted for, which helps the company make informed financial decisions and maintain compliance with regulations.The senior accountant for DTC Content is responsible for maintaining and accounting for WBD's Direct to Consumer content assets and amortization expenses, including cash payments and reconciliations.
This individual ensures assets are properly recorded and reported in the financial statements, and comply with accounting standards and laws.
This role will ensure all deliverables are completed timely and accurately.Your Role AccountabilitiesPrepare accruals and other manual journal entries and related supporting documents, which include evidence of controls performed in SAP/PeopleSoft.Prepare supporting files to analyze the monthly activity of assigned accounts.
Identify and highlight relevant P&L; variances between the current month and the YTD average.
Report those variances to the Accounting Manager.Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts.
Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to assist the Accounting Manager and other team members to cover any information requests for internal (SOX-Internal Audit-GBS Management) or external (Auditors, Tax, Legal, or Statutory) filing purposes.Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.




Suggest those changes to the Accounting Manager.Assist in special projects including the system implementation of SAP S/4HANA and redesign processes that are currently performed in PeopleSoft.
Prepare and maintain accounting process documentation.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent2 years of accounting/audit experienceFluent in EnglishExperience working with all levels of management including project managersExperience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliationsExperience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting and variance analysisPreferredMaster's degree and/or CPA2+ Content accounting or media experiencePrevious knowledge and experience with ERP Systems (SAP or PeopleSoft)Good knowledge of asset classification and experience in planning and executing auditsStrong understanding of general ledger and sub-ledgerHow We Get Things DoneOur guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done.
