GENERAL SUMMARY The Assistant Editor, Video Operations, is responsible for supporting paid media production teams by executing technical video updates, quality control fixes, formatting adjustments, and final asset delivery preparation.
This role works downstream within the creative production process, ensuring final video assets meet client, platform, media specifications, and regional requirements before release.Unlike traditional editorial roles, this position does not focus on creative editing or content development.
Instead, the AE serves as a technical production resource, responsible for implementing last-minute revisions, troubleshooting failed QC issues, preparing final deliverables, and ensuring assets are delivered accurately and on time.Working under the direction of the SVP, Operations Director, this role requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the flexibility to rapidly shift priorities to support high-volume, fast-moving paid media campaigns.
Timely response and turnaround during business hours are critical to success.RESPONSIBILITIES Where applicable, perform technical updates and revisions to video assets that fail client, platform, traffic, or internal QC reviews.
Updates may include:Removing slates or leader content, updating end cards, or other non-compliant elements from final deliverablesTrimming or adjusting video durations to meet platform and publisher specificationsReframing, resizing, and reformatting assets for various aspect ratios and distribution requirementsUpdating, replacing, or applying graphics using provided templates and project filePerforming minor visual adjustment, color correction, and technical modifications as needed to support media and platform requirementsTranscoding assets into required formats, codecs, resolutions,
and file specifications.Implement quick-turn fixes to existing video deliverables while preserving creative integrity and approved content.Review assets against delivery specifications and identify issues requiring correction prior to final release and conduct final QC checks on updated files before submission.Manage multiple incoming requests simultaneously while owning and maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.Explore and apply AI tools to streamline production tasksOther duties as assignedLOCATION & COMMITMENTS Full-time role, currently hybrid statusIn-person/in-office minimum of 3 days per weekOvertime may be required to deliver on client projects and deadlinesQUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of post-production, assistant editing, video operations, media management, or technical finishing experienceProficient in Premiere Pro and strong working knowledge of Media Encoder/Compressor and AfterEffectsTechnical understanding of video and the post-production pipelineStrong understanding of video codecs, frame rates, aspect ratios, resolutions, and media specifications.Passionate, driven, proactive, curious, with an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast- paced, high-expectation environmentStrong sense of priorities with the ability to manage multiple asks/tasksPHYSICAL DEMANDSProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
