Fish Meal Plant ManagerPosition SummaryThe Fish Meal Plant Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Fish Meal Plant.
This role oversees the conversion of fish by-products into high-quality fish meal and fish oil while maximizing yield, ensuring product quality, controlling costs, and maintaining environmental and food safety standards.The position provides strategic and operational leadership, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Environmental, and Corporate teams to achieve production objectives and drive continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementLead all daily Fish Meal Plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.Develop and execute production plans aligned with raw material availability and business requirements.Maximize equipment utilization, throughput, and production efficiency.Monitor and improve plant KPIs, including yield, productivity, downtime, energy consumption, and operating costs.Process OptimizationOptimize fish meal and fish oil manufacturing processes to improve product quality and operational efficiency.Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, process stability, and waste reduction.Analyze production data to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines.Quality & Food SafetyEnsure compliance with all product quality specifications.Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, BRCGS,



and applicable regulatory requirements.Work closely with Quality Assurance to investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.Promote a culture of food safety and operational excellence.Environmental, Health & SafetyEnsure compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability initiatives.Promote safe work practices and maintain a zero-incident safety culture.Ensure proper operation of emission control systems and waste management processes.Participate in risk assessments and corrective action programs.Maintenance & ReliabilityCoordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and plant availability.Support capital investment projects and equipment upgrades.Leadership & People DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational teams.Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development opportunities.Promote employee engagement and effective cross-functional collaboration.Financial ManagementDevelop and manage the Fish Meal Plant operating budget.Monitor labor, utilities, maintenance,



and production costs.Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational excellence.Corporate CollaborationCoordinate with Corporate Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sustainability, and Supply Chain teams.Support strategic initiatives and capital projects.Provide regular operational reporting and KPI updates to senior leadership.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related field.7+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing operations.3+ years of leadership experience managing production teams.Experience in fish meal, rendering, seafood processing, food manufacturing, or similar continuous process industries preferred.Strong knowledge of industrial processing equipment, dryers, presses, centrifuges, boilers, and utilities.Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Advanced English proficiency preferred.Preferred ExperienceFish Meal and Fish Oil production.Seafood processing operations.Rendering or protein recovery plants.Environmental compliance and wastewater management.Capital projects and plant startups.SAP or ERP systems.KPI management and operational reporting.What We OfferOpportunity to lead one of Bumble Bee Mexico's key strategic manufacturing operations.Exposure to international projects and collaboration with Corporate teams.Career growth within a general food manufacturing organization.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.A culture focused on safety, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
