Job Title: Process Engineer Location: Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico Job Type: Full-timeCompany: Julian Electric de MexicoOverview: The Product Engineer is responsible for translating customer engineering drawings into detailed process sheets that can be efficiently manufactured in our facility.This role ensures design feasibility, manages engineering changes, and serves as the primary technical liaison between the customer and internal teams.The Product Engineer also develops and maintains Bills of Materials (BOMs), utilizes CAD tools, and leverages the EWQ (Engineering Work Queue) platform to prioritize and track new part numbers.As a Product Engineer you will report to the Engineering ManagerTo be successful as a Product Engineer, you must have a strong ability to analyze and translate customer drawings into clear, accurate process sheets that align with manufacturing capabilities.Attention to detail and proficiency in CAD software are essential for ensuring precise documentation, while expertise in BOM creation and engineering change management will help maintain efficiency in production workflows.Effective communication skills are crucial, as you will be the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, addressing technical inquiries and design clarifications.Strong time management and prioritization are necessary to handle multiple projectsResponsibilities:1.Translation of Customer Drawings:a.Analyze and interpret customer engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.b.
Develop and document process sheets for internal manufacturing based on customer designs.c.
Ensure that manufacturing instructions align with production capabilities and quality standards.2.Engineering Change Management (ECOs):a.Manage and implement engineering change orders (ECOs) while ensuring minimal production disruption.b.
Update process sheets and internal documentation to reflect design modifications.c.
Communicate design changes to cross-functional teams to maintain production efficiency.3.Customer Communication & Technical Support:a.Serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer and internal teams.b.
Address customer inquiries, provide clarifications on drawings, and resolve design-related issues.c.
Ensure that customer expectations are accurately reflected in internal manufacturing documents.4.Process Documentation & Standardization:a.Create and maintain detailed work instructions, BOMs, and technical specifications.b.
Standardize documentation processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.c.
Ensure all documentation complies with industry regulations and company policies.5.Manufacturing Support & Feasibility Analysis:a.Collaborate with production teams to ensure feasibility of customer designs.b.
Identify potential manufacturability issues and recommend design modifications when necessary.c.




Work closely with tooling and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of process sheets.6.Quality & Compliance:a.Ensure that all products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and industry regulations.b.
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product deviations.c.
Work with quality teams to improve product consistency and reduce defects.7.Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:a.Identify opportunities for process improvements in documentation, workflow, and manufacturability.b.
Support initiatives in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost reduction.c.
Collaborate with production teams to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.8.Tooling & Equipment Coordination:a.Work with tooling engineers to determine required fixtures, jigs, and tools for production.b.
Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are specified in process documentation.c.
Assist in evaluating tooling modifications to improve manufacturing performance.9.Team Leadership & Collaboration:a.Lead and support the product engineering team in process documentation and customer communication.b.
Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in interpreting drawings and creating process sheets.c.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain.10.New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:a.Assist in the introduction of new products by developing initial process sheets and documentation.b.
Work with design and production teams to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to full-scale production.c.
Support first-article inspections and initial production runs.11.Bill of Materials (BOM) Development & Management:a.Create and maintain accurate BOMs based on manufacturing processes.b.
Ensure BOMs are properly structured and aligned with engineering and production requirements.c.
Update BOMs to reflect engineering changes, material substitutions, and process improvements.12.Use of CAD & Engineering Tools:a.Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to analyze and interpret customer drawings.b.
Ensure proper revision control and integration of CAD files into internal systems.c.
Work with design teams to optimize drawings for manufacturability.13.Use of EWQ (Engineering Work Queue):a.Utilize the EWQ platform to measure, track, and maintain priorities for new part numbers.b.
Ensure all engineering tasks are prioritized based on customer deadlines and internal manufacturing capacity.c.
Regularly update EWQ to reflect progress, bottlenecks,



and resource allocation.Qualifications:· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or process engineering in a relevant industry.
· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and manufacturing processes.
· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for drawing interpretation.
· Experience with engineering change management (ECOs) and documentation control.
· Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and process documentation.
· Strong communication skills for interfacing customers and internal teams.
· Experience with engineering work management tools.Hard Skills:· Engineering Drawing Interpretation – Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer engineering drawings, GD&T;, and specifications for manufacturing.
· CAD Proficiency – Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software to review, modify, and optimize designs.
· Bill of Materials (BOM) Management – Ability to create, maintain, and update BOMs according to manufacturing requirements.
· Process Documentation & Standardization – Expertise in developing process sheets, work instructions, and technical documentation for manufacturing.
· Engineering Change Management (ECOs) – Experience managing engineering changes, revisions, and updates while ensuring smooth implementation.
· Use of EWQ (Engineering Work Queue) – Ability to track, prioritize, and manage new part numbers and engineering tasks using the EWQ platform.
· Manufacturing & Process Optimization – Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement techniques, and cost reduction strategies.
· Customer Communication & Technical Support – Ability to address customer inquiries, clarify design doubts, and ensure manufacturability of components.Soft Skills:· Analytical Thinking – Strong problem-solving skills to assess feasibility, troubleshoot issues, and optimize manufacturing processes.
