Position Overview
The Maintenance Engineer provides technical leadership for the maintenance organization, ensuring equipment reliability, asset performance, and operational uptime. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role leads a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Utilities Technicians while driving maintenance execution, troubleshooting, reliability initiatives, continuous improvement, and support for capital projects, equipment installation, and commissioning. The position works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance Planning, and Controls Engineering teams to optimize plant performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Execution
Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team of approximately 12 technicians.
Establish daily maintenance priorities to support production and operational goals.
Ensure safe and effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Coordinate maintenance activities with Production and Operations teams.
Reliability & Technical Support
Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical equipment and utility systems.
Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex maintenance issues.
Lead root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and implement corrective actions.
Develop maintenance standards, procedures, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and CAPEX projects.
Coordinate maintenance resources during major shutdowns and project activities.
Drive TPM, Lean Maintenance, 5S,
and equipment performance improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and lower maintenance costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance
Partner with Maintenance Planning to optimize preventive maintenance schedules and resource allocation.
Collaborate with Controls Engineering on troubleshooting, automation, and commissioning efforts.
Manage contractors and ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS procedures, including LOTO, confined space, and hot work requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
7+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years of experience leading maintenance teams.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial utility systems.
Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Experience leading root cause analysis and reliability improvement programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Requirements
Experience supporting greenfield or startup manufacturing facilities.
Knowledge of Reliability Engineering principles and predictive maintenance programs.
Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting capital projects and equipment acceptance processes.
Familiarity with industrial automation systems.
SAP PM experience.
