We are seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Mexico. This role will focus on evaluating IT General Controls (ITGCs), supporting SOX compliance, and performing operational IT audits to strengthen risk management, governance, and control processes across the organization. The idóneo candidate brings strong experience in SOX-related IT audits, a solid understanding of IT environments (including SAP), and the ability to assess risks in complex systems and processes.

Responsibilities

- Lead and execute IT audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting
- Assess and test IT General Controls (ITGCs) in support of SOX compliance (access controls, change management, IT operations)
- Perform ITGC testing within SAP environments, including user access, change management, computer operations, program development, roles/authorizations, transport controls and automated controls
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls
- Perform operational IT audits and identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and risk mitigation
- Document audit procedures, findings, and recommendations in accordance with internal audit standards
- Evaluate system implementations, upgrades, and IT projects (including SAP) for control risks
- Support remediation efforts by providing guidance to management on control design and improvements
- Stay current on regulatory requirements, emerging risks, and industry trends in IT auditing and cybersecurity
- Partner with external auditors during SOX compliance activities, delivering high-quality testing documentation to facilitate reliance on internal audit’s work

Qualifications





Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3–6+ years of experience in IT audit, IT risk, or internal audit
- Strong experience with SOX compliance, specifically ITGC and ITAC testing
- SAP environments, including access controls and configuration
- Custom applications supported by MS SQL Server
- Software as a Service applications
- Knowledge of frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, NIST
- Experience auditing ERP systems and/or business applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; able to express complex ideas in simple terms; well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to challenge; very strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to rapidly assimilate knowledge of processes and systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to independently complete and manage multiple assignments with varying deadlines.

Preferred

- Experience performing operational IT audits beyond SOX (cybersecurity, data governance, system implementations)
- Professional certification such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or similar
- Experience working in multinational or complex IT environments
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA environments is a plus
