Job Overview
The Category Growth Development Manager is responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets from various sources (POS, shopper panels, eCommerce platforms, internal sales) to identify trends.
This role supports category managers in developing and implementing growth initiatives by monitoring performance, preparing reports, and contributing to strategic projects that optimize assortment, promotional planning, planogram analysis, and eCategory management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze data and generate actionable insights from diverse sources to identify category growth opportunities.
Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards to monitor category, brand, and SKU performance against KPIs such as sales, market share, profitability, distribution, and shelf availability.
Actively support category managers in the development and execution of growth initiatives, including assortment optimization, promotional planning, planogram analysis, and eCategory management strategies.
Prepare supporting materials and contribute to presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Hard Skills
Advanced data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI.
Experience with retail data platforms.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations.
Desirable knowledge of planogram software (e.g., JDA, Space Planning).
Soft Skills
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills.
Collaboration and teamwork orientation.
Job Qualifications / Nice to Have Skills
Experience in eCommerce analytics.
Basic knowledge of SQL for ad-hoc data querying and extraction.
Certifications in Category Management.
