Position Summary
The job entails developing and implementing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the operations of the company.
Manage and lead a team of buyers and other purchasing staff, providing guidance on procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders as needed to meet demand.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Continuously evaluate and improve the procurement process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to identify and implement procurement best practices.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including negotiating favorable terms and resolving any issues that may arise.
Proven experience in strategic procurement and supplier relationship management.
Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
Master's degree desirable.
8-10 years of experience in procurement,
with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Good English communication skills – written & verbal.
Strong project‐management skills.
Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Physical & Environmental Demands
The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
Travel
Travel to different office or plant locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
