YOUR ROLEAs Packaging Engineer you will drive, in the heart of our Global PC&L; Operations, all activities within the logistics operations domain with special focus on Packaging, from design until implementation.In this key position you will be coordinating with the plant PC&L; Managers, as well as the Regional PC&L; Directors, all activities within the logistics operations domain and drive robust logistics cost improvement projects across the globe.
Optimized Packaging designs and costs will enable the company to focus investments on growth of the business and enable flow in our operations.
The job provides high visibility inside the AS&UX; Organization and is reporting to the Global Packaging Leader, who in turn reports to the Integral Logistics Manager.RESPONSIBILITIESSupport Global Packaging Engineering group in regards to people, process, roadmap and financialsDesign, test and implement outbound packaging for new product launchEnsure following packaging procedures and processes across ASUXEnsure Packaging value and % to sales beating BBPSupport profitability improvement initiativesImprove returnable packaging flow managementShare best practices across all sites in ASUXSupport customer in packaging excellence solutionsDefine RACI for Packaging Planning (Inbound & Outbound)Release documentation and provide production intent packaging at PV Build in support of Launch Performance GoalsSupport on all ASUX RFQsParticipate in Kaizen/Gemba workshops as neededParticipate in advanced material meetings prior to SOP to ensure Original and Alternative Packaging are implementedSupport in providing Inbound Packaging information to all sourcing parts (from sourcing to SOP)Develop E2E Packaging Integrated Solutions (from Inbound to Outbound)Develop new supplier packaging strategy, guidelines and related process and activitiesREQUIRED SKILLSBachelor of Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Science in Logistics, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant areaExtensive knowledge of Supply Chain Processes (with preference for Operations, Manufacturing and Logistics related ones)5+ years of significant Experience in a Business Process Role related to Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing and LogisticsAdvanced knowledge of SAP and other relevant systems/tools, and relevant experience as a professional user in a challenging environmentGood knowledge of the English languageAnalytical mindset, strongly process driven and used to view the performance through "process and people" angleGood working knowledge of MS office and integration with other systemsExperience in a challenging automotive environmentSkills and/or Experience as a leader & people manager in a global team environmentNICE TO HAVES (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)Basic understanding of Lean principles and toolsBasic knowledge on Six Sigma principles and toolsCuriously investigate everything – ability to solving problems analytically,
