Position SummaryFitness Instructors are the heart of the Live 2 B Healthy program, delivering safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes for older adults in senior living communities.Instructors are also responsible for providing individualized attention through Private One-on-One Training and Small Group Training sessions.This role requires a passion for helping seniors stay active, with a strong commitment to program quality, safety, and participant progress.BenefitsBonus based on performanceFlexible scheduleOpportunity for advancementTraining & developmentPosition SummaryFitness Instructors are the heart of the Live 2 B Healthy program, delivering safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes for older adults in senior living communities.Instructors are also responsible for providing individualized attention through Private One-on-One Training and Small Group Training sessions.This role requires a passion for helping seniors stay active, with a strong commitment to program quality, safety, and participant progress.ResponsibilitiesLead Group Aqua Fitness Classes for Seniors: Conduct scheduled on-site fitness classes tailored to the needs and abilities of older adults, focusing on functional movement, balance, and strength.Private & Small Group Training: Deliver personalized one-on-one and small group sessions with residents based on their individual goals and abilities, following approved programming and documentation protocols.Ensure Safety & Inclusivity:
Monitor participants closely to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively.Modify activities as needed to support all fitness levels.Build Positive Relationships: Create a motivating, respectful, and inclusive environment.Establish trust and rapport with residents, staff, and community decision-makers.Follow Program Guidelines: Adhere to all Live 2 B Healthy protocols and curriculum standards for all formats of training (group, small group, and private).
Communication & Reporting: Accurately report attendance, session feedback, and client notes to the Fitness Program Manager.Communicate class concerns or scheduling issues in a timely manner.QualificationsExperience in group aqua fitness, personal training, group fitness, or rehab-based exerciseCurrent nationally recognized fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or equivalent)Current CPR/AED certification (required)Strong interpersonal skills and an encouraging, client-centered approachReliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled sessionsPreferredExperience in senior aqua fitnessAEA Aquatic Fitness Professional Certification OR AFAA/ACE aquatic specialty certificationExperience teaching arthritis, balance, or low-impact aquatic classesPrevious experience with private clients or group training with seniorsBackground in working with seniors or within senior living communitiesUnderstanding of age-related conditions and how to safely modify exercisesCompensationHourly pay based on experience and certifications.Additional compensation for private and small group sessions.Mileage and travel time may be reimbursed as applicable.
