This individual contributor position is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the processes involved in the supply chain, ensuring that goods are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.The Logistics Specialist requires to evaluate transportation routes, carrier performance, and warehousing strategies to minimize expenses without compromising service quality.Essential Functions:Schedule and coordinate transportation from Valmont and Non-Valmont locations.Select carriers effectively using a Route guide to support the cost savings strategy.Optimize Valmont ́s logistics operations through reorganizing shipping schedules, consolidating loads, and maximizing vehicle usage to reduce costs.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehouse staff, and transportation providers to ensure smooth logistics operations.Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers and import/export department to ensure on time border crossing.Maintain operational reports and TMS data accurate and updated for internal customers.Use data analytics to maintain and monitor KPIs such as on time pickups and deliveries, system updates completion and operational costs.Identify areas for improvement within the supply chain and recommend process enhancements.Plan and execute logistics projects, ensuring timely deliveriesImplement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes and customer satisfaction.Support Cost reduction initiatives and implementations.Other Important Details about the Role:Address and resolve logistical challenges, such as delays or discrepancies in shipments, to maintain operational efficiency.Ensure Customer satisfaction through on-time deliveries.Maintain SOPs and Workflows up to date with the operation to support standardization across the team functions.Crosstrain in all department ́s activities.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant workshops, pursuing certifications, and engaging in learning.Required Qualifications for Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge,



Skills and Abilities):Bachelor's degree and one to six years of experience in logistics roles (intern, full-time and/or part-time).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting data and making informed decisions.Strong customer service orientation, communication and presentation skills and a comfort level presenting to groups.Experience in managing process implementations and logistics projects.Proficiency in logistics software and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles.Knowledge on inland Transportation and its regulations in Mexico and US.Experience managing international Logistics operations and customs processes.Must be knowledgeable on analyzing logistics performance metrics, generate reports, and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing environments.Self-starter and able to work professionally and independently.Must have a professional and fluent English communication.Strong business acumen and ability to partner effectively with other teams to solve business needs.Demonstrated ability to build a simple plan and then execute it well within a complex environment.Self-motivated and able to successfully deliver all deadlines and flawlessly execute in a fast-paced environment.Excellent analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a group.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:Proficiency in logistics software, advanced Excel skills, knowledge of ERP systems, and familiarity with routing optimization tools.Ability to pivot strategies quickly in response to changing circumstances and maintain operational continuity.Providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.Must have strong understanding of Transportation and Integral Trade Processes.Demonstrated ability to assess training effectiveness and implement continuous improvement strategies.Fluent English is a must on this position.
