The Vehicle Material Cost Specialist (Cost Engineer) is responsible for creating, analyzing, and validating component material costs and targets.
The cost engineer works in the PPCO / Product Program Cost Optimization team to generate ground‐up, detailed material cost estimates that encompass both piece price estimations and production tooling estimations.
Collaboration with internal cross‐functional peers—including product engineering, purchasing and supply chain, vehicle program, general joint venture partners in China, and external component supply base—is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze, organize, and understand large amounts of data.
Apply comprehensive manufacturing process knowledge, including regional manufacturing assumptions.
Partner actively with the internal GPSC purchasing team to provide fair yet competitive component costs.
Occasionally travel domestically to supplier facilities for costing collaboration.
Support the assigned GM SMT from a tooling and piece price perspective.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes, supplier negotiations, product focus, and influencing purchasing and engineering teams.
Proficiency with Office software and IA knowledge.
Advanced English language skills.
Soft skills: communication, quality orientation, negotiation.
Availability to travel as required.
