JOB SUMMARY:The Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design of new electronic products up to full production and supports existing product needs.
This includes ensuring meets all test requirements, design specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, rapid prototype, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfers to production.
This engineer will also be responsible for technical support of some mature electronic products currently in production.PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Design the product following the standard electronic design process.Demonstrate the design concept and meet customer requirement using scientific methodSupport design practices to ensure compliance to EMC test specs.Support full design processWrites manufacture and test procedures and reportsParticipates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new electronic productsProvides technical support to manufacturing, quality, software and mechanical teamsStrong project management skills.Strong skills in root cause analysisWorking well in close knit teams as well as independentlyEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or EquivalentMinimum of 7 years of engineering experience, with 5 years in designing of electronic circuits (Preferably has worked at an automotive supplier; Tier 1 or Tier 2)Ability to understand a device's compatibility with (i.E., no interference is caused by) its electromagnetic (EM) environment and ensure it does not emit levels of EM energy that cause electromagnetic interference (EMI) in other devices in the vicinity.
Also a strong background in best design practices to comply to conducted immunity requirements is a plus.Knowledge and experience with motor driver circuits for both brushless and brushed DC motors including high side and low side drivers.




(Typical motor inrush currents are 5 - 20 A)Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit block design and their integration into products.Understanding of signal conditioningFamiliarity of layout tools, experience with schematic capture and layoutKnowledge and experience with hall cells is a plusDemonstrated experience in Electrical simulation tools (PSpice, Design Rule checks, Virtual EMC tools, etc.)Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.Understanding of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)Understanding of the criticality of getting things done despite current circumstances and the ability to utilize assigned resources and leverage back-channel resources (individuals or teams) to achieve or exceed planned outcomes.Strong project management skillsStrong collaboration and understanding of effective communication; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problemsAbility and willingness to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.Understanding the necessity of evolving the business to remain competitive and ability to understand, adapt oneself to respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization.Knowledge of product development methods and ability to research, identify and apply formal disciplines and best practices for improving the quality and costs related to product development.Experience and knowledge of Automotive safety integrity levels; (Functional safety)MCIP; (material cost improvement planning)COPQ; (Cost of poor quality)LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Less than 10% travel required for this position.
