As a Sustainability Program Manager for Supplier Sustainability & Decarbonization, you will drive supplier engagement and sustainability performance improvement across NetApp's integral supply base.
You will play a key role in advancing supplier maturity in environmental performance, circularity, and Scope 3 emissions reduction.
This role also owns the foundation of sustainability data across the supply chain, including Full Material Disclosure (FMD), BOM-level material mapping, and lifecycle/carbon data readiness.
You will work across Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sustainability teams to ensure supplier data is accurate, consistent, and actionable, enabling scalable reporting, compliance, and decarbonization initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLead supplier sustainability programs to improve performance, transparency, and alignment with NetApp expectationsCollaborate on developing NetApp's next generation sustainability supplier engagement program to include Tier 1, 2 and 3 direct and indirect suppliersDrive supplier maturity frameworks and continuous improvement initiativesPartner with Sustainability to embed criteria into supplier selection, contracts, and scorecardsBuild and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Commodity Managers and Product Compliance teams, as well as external suppliers, to accelerate sustainability initiatives and improve performance.Engage suppliers to support NetApp's Scope 3 reduction and climate target alignmentTrack and analyze supplier environmental data (greenhouse gas (GHG), water, waste, plastics, biodiversity)Collaborate to build supplier environmental training programsSupport supplier environmental target-setting and monitor progressIdentify opportunities to reduce lifecycle emissions through supplier and design collaborationDrive collection, consolidation, and maintenance of Full Material Disclosure (FMD) dataPerform BOM-level data mapping and standardize data across sourcesEnsure data accuracy, completeness,
and consistencySupport LCA and PCF data preparation and validation for downstream analysisEngage suppliers to collect and improve material and sustainability dataImprove data quality and responsiveness through proactive engagementEnsure adherence to governance standards, templates, and SOPsMaintain documentation for traceability and audit readinessIdentify inefficiencies and drive process improvements to scale and reduce manual effortCollaborate across Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and SustainabilitySupport sustainability reporting (including regulatory and strategic reports), dashboards, and customer requestsEducationBachelor's degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field+3 to 5 years of experience in sustainability, corporate responsibility, supply chain, or supplier engagementExperience working on Scope 3, environmental metrics, or sustainability programsStrong stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsExperience working with data, reporting, and sustainability frameworks (e.G., GHG Protocol, Sustainability reporting)Key personality traits beneficial to have :Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence suppliers and cross-functional stakeholdersExcellent communication skills, able to translate sustainability goals into clear, actionable plansProactive and improvement-driven mindset, with a passion for driving continuous supplier performance improvementsStrategic yet practical thinker, able to connect enterprise goals with supplier-level executionInfluential without authority, capable of aligning stakeholders across functionsCurious and eager to learn,
