- A significant part of the role involves project management, and close partnership with design, supply chain extended teams, and having a leadership role with contract manufacturers for all electro mechanical components.
- The role requires a strong quality focus by investigating issues, proposing solutions and their implementation into production sites.
- The role involves a cost reduction aspect by refining assembly processes ( ie hard tooling ), qualifying new components and reviewing existing design as well as identifying opportunities for continuous quality and cost efficiency improvements.
Specific Responsibilities
- Design review inputs - technical assessments and recommendations for all new designs.
- Perform all manufacturability assessments DFM, milestones reviews and recommendations for design improvement for all mechanical designs used on circuit packs




- First piece evaluation ( FPE) build ownership and approval
- Material Supply - Develop and implement an effective supply chain in the support of NPI development activities
- _ Provides product technical support of initial NPI introduction, Volume Production and product enhancement/re-spin through technical assessments and change process_
- Detailed build management -communication of all design proto-type specific information to the relevant suppliers.
- Identify and communicate mechanical design changes to EMS.
