**About the role**:
We’re hiring a System Administrator to oversee the health, performance, and reliability of our SQL Managed Instance environment, manage production deployments, and play a key role in DevOps and infrastructure automation. This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone with a passion for both systems reliability and data integrity.
**What You’ll Do**
- Manage, monitor, and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instances and SQL Server databases
- Perform index tuning, query optimization, and performance monitoring
- Handle backup/restore, failover configuration, HA/DR planning, and maintenance plans
- Review and advise on database schema design, stored procedures, and indexing strategies
- Monitor database growth and forecast capacity needs
- Ensure adherence to data security, access control, and compliance policies
- Oversee code deployments and infrastructure releases via Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment scripts
- Manage Windows Server VMs used for hosting web and backend services
- Support and maintain Azure App Services, ensuring uptime and scalability




- Automate common administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripts
**Required Skills & Experience**
- 2+ years of experience with SQL Server (on-prem or managed) in a DBA or database engineering role
- Strong command of T-SQL, including scripting, performance tuning, and database development
- Experience administering Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Database
- Proven expertise in Azure DevOps Pipelines, release automation, and deployment scripting
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration
