We are seeking a **Lead API Engineer** driven to manage complex data migrations while optimizing API settings, configurations, and operations.
As a pivotal team member, you will shape data engineering strategies, impacting business outcomes while gaining hands-on experience with innovative technologies.
**Responsibilities**
- Migrate API settings and configurations to streamline diverse data integrations
- Transition proxies, shared flows, reports, monitors, and customer configurations efficiently
- Perform volume and performance testing through simulation tools and host system integrations
- Communicate technical challenges, addressing potential risks and obstacles effectively
- Provide complex technical solutions while maintaining exceptional quality standards
**Requirements**:
- 5 years of experience in Java coding and API development
- Background in completing at least one end-to-end migration between Apigee versions, including Apigee X
- Expertise in Java, REST APIs, SQL, and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with Apigee Edge, Apigee X, GCP, MySQL, Big Query, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Anthos
- Proficiency in development and operations for cloud-native technologies, particularly GCP
- Understanding of big data frameworks and data engineering methodologies
- Knowledge of open-source libraries and packages utilized in data engineering
- Competency in conveying ideas clearly, organizing effectively, and fluency in English
- Flexibility to use new tools, programming languages, and data migration approaches
- Commitment to collaboration with teammates, along with mentoring capabilities
**Nice to have**
- Background in frameworks and platforms such as AngularJS, ReactJS, and Python for data integration, alongside advanced SQL techniques
- Familiarity with key tools like Apache Kafka, BigQuery datasets, Google Anthos, and Kubernetes
