**About the Role**
The **Referral Specialist** plays a key role within our clinical and call center teams, ensuring every patient receives a positive, supportive, and efficient experience. This role focuses on **outbound patient outreach**, **appointment scheduling**, **information confirmation**, and **initial patient guidance**. By understanding patient needs and visit reasons, the Referral Specialist helps ensure patients are connected with the most appropriate podiatric care clinic.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Patient Outreach & Scheduling**
- Make outbound calls to patients to schedule appointments.
- Clearly communicate appointment details, visit expectations, and next steps.
- Match patients to the appropriate clinic based on symptoms and care needs.
**Information Verification & Documentation**
- Confirm and update patient demographics, visit reasons, and insurance information.
- Accurately document all call outcomes and interactions within the EHR or CRM system.
- Maintain detailed and secure patient records in alignment with internal protocols.
**Patient Safety & Triage Awareness**
- Assess urgency based on patient‑reported symptoms.
- Escalate scheduling concerns when immediate or same‑day attention may be necessary.
**Productivity & Workflow Management**
- Follow assigned work schedules and meet daily/weekly performance metrics.




- Work efficiently from call queues and maintain high-volume outreach discipline.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and contribute to a smooth scheduling workflow in a fast-paced environment.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- **Proficiency in English** (written and verbal).
- **Strong customer service background**—client-facing experience preferred.
- **Phone-based experience** in appointment scheduling, call centers, or outbound calling.
- **At least 1+ year of consistent employment history** in previous roles (stability required).
- **Basic computer proficiency** with the ability to learn EHR systems quickly.
- Familiarity with **queue-based and CRM workflows**.
- Professional, friendly communication style and strong attention to detail.
