PLANNER BUYER II FULLY ON SITE POSITION | TIJUANA PACIFICO AREA Summary of Position: The Buyer/Planner II is responsible for the development and management of suppliers and all purchasing and planning activities relating to manufacturing, service and inventory control for assigned product lines. The position is also responsible for supporting the optimization of inventory levels, and to be alert to material changes, shortages, unplanned scrap and material availability. Maintains the MRP system data and its integrity, prepares and analyzes reports, and supports project management of existing and new products.
The Buyer/Planner II is responsible for creating the vision for their supply base to support existing products as well as new products. The position will take full ownership of key performance indicators associated with vendor scorecard performance and leading improvements when necessary. They Buyer/Planner II requires written and verbal fluency in Spanish and English at a B2 level or higher.
Primary Responsibilities: Maintain and follow purchasing procedures to conform to business regulations. Ensure data accuracy and maintenance of parts in ERP system; including lead times, ABC classifications, safety stock level, and other planning features. Manage and respond to MRP requirements.
Coordinate & expedite the placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material. Resolve discrepancies. Capable of ensuring timely and effective completion of Shortage Report, Late P.O.s, and MRP Action Messages.
Coordinate the timely disposition of NCMR's and support all QA activities to communicate non-conformance and corrective actions with suppliers.
Measure and communicate supplier quality and delivery performance. Responsible for driving improvements with Suppliers.
Coordinates and runs periodic business reviews with suppliers as necessary. Act as primary interface for Vapotherm and its customers in communication to suppliers the needs and expectations of product quality, delivery performance and overall company goals. Responsible for initiatives driving results measured by lower material costs, more responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and overall supply chain performance.
Develop and manage supplier cost reduction programs and stocking programs to aid in the optimization of inventory. Interfaces w/Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, Management, etc. on a daily basis communicating status and championing issue resolution. Responsible for understanding product demands, production capacity and inventory goals.
When these quantities are out of alignment, provides management with clear, timely and accurate information with which to make decisions. Manages the implementation of Engineering Changes throughout the product lifecycle to minimize obsolete inventory within change effectivity constraints. Implements dispositions affecting stock, work in progress.
Is aware of pending changes, manages existing inventory,
new and existing orders to ensure expedited cut in of changes Troubleshoot vendor issues and pro-actively offer solutions.

Assist with inventory control and physical inventories as necessary Assist with various manufacturing activities as necessary Position Requirements - Education, Knowledge, Years of Experience, etc. (Bulleted form) : B.S. Degree in Business, Supply Chain preferred or equivalent work experience 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of supply chain improvements.
Able to speak, understand, and write in English and Spanish at a B2 or higher level. APICS certification is a plus. Epicor experience is a plus. Proven experience in high pace medical manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to rapidly learn new systems and procedures. Able to work under general supervision and guidelines.
Skills and Abilities: Broad understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding Production Planning, Purchasing and material and capacity planning methodologies Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts Able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills The employee is required to work in an office and manufacturing assembly environment.
The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, or stand. May require travel to supplier sites
