At Dematic, part of KION Group , we are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Defense Center in Mexico. This role will play a key part in protecting our global technology environment by strengthening security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and security automation capabilities.

We are looking for a cybersecurity professional with strong experience in Security Operations Center environments, incident handling, SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, and security operations.

Your Responsibilities

- Support the operation and continuous improvement of the KION Group Cyber Defense Center.
- Investigate, analyze, contain, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including forensic analysis when required.
- Monitor, analyze, and correlate security events from different tools, systems, and data sources.
- Develop and improve detection rules, use cases, and response processes within SIEM and SOAR platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain security playbooks to automate incident response activities within the SOC.
- Analyze security logs to identify malicious activity and differentiate it from legitimate behavior.
- Participate in Threat Hunting and Threat Intelligence activities to identify active threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
- Support the integration of new log sources, systems, and security solutions into the monitoring environment.
- Develop scripts and automations, preferably using Python, to improve security operations and analysis processes.
- Evaluate and integrate security detection capabilities for cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
- Participate in the Cyber Security on-call rotation to support global security operations.
- Collaborate with international IT teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners to improve the company’s security posture.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cybersecurity processes, controls, documentation, and operational practices.

Your Profile

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity,



Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, Cyber Defense Centers, or related areas.
- Hands‑on experience with cybersecurity incident investigation and response.
- Strong knowledge of security log analysis, threat detection, and security‑event monitoring.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, SOAR platforms, and other security detection technologies.
- Experience creating or improving security automation workflows and SOC playbooks.
- Scripting knowledge, preferably using Python .
- Knowledge of Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, digital forensics, and incident response.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK; and the Cyber Kill Chain.
- Understanding of modern IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and cloud security controls in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Advanced English level, as you will collaborate with international teams and participate in global technical discussions.
- Availability to participate in on‑call rotations and travel up to 10%, including international travel.

Nice to Have

- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, GIAC, GSEC, GEVA, GPEN , Splunk, or Elastic/ELK certifications.
- Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Sumo Logic, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar cybersecurity platforms.
- Experience implementing or improving SOC processes and operations.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, identity security, endpoint protection, and cloud security.
