Overview

The Network Engineer is responsible for design, provision, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert managing converged network technologies. Will also input to network architecture to ensure appropriate technology strategy to meet business requirements. This individual should be a highly qualified network with up-to-date hands-on skills. In addition, the ability to interact with distributed engineers, customers, and all levels of senior executive staff.

Remote position

Responsibilities

- Design and implement LAN/WAN/WLAN, SD-WAN, Unified Communications, and Security solutions.
- Troubleshoot and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Act as an escalation point for complex network and UC issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide expert-level network support.
- Maintain documentation and infrastructure diagrams.
- Analyze and monitor network performance and recommend improvements.
- Work with tools like Wireshark, Solarwinds, RTMT, NetMon, etc.





Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- ITSM foundation training required.

Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networks or managed service environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Cisco environments; CCNP Enterprise required.
- Experience with collaboration platforms and UC architecture.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, QoS, RTP, sRTP, SNMP, Netflow.
- Proficient in troubleshooting with network tools and debuggers.
- MSP or consulting background is a plus.
