Position Summary

Production Supervisor will be responsible for overall safety, quality, service, cost productivity, and employee morale of the assigned department. The supervisor serves as a liaison to management on manufacturing, quality, process, and engineering related issues. They directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, assemblers, fabricators, machine operators, and test personnel. A successful supervisor promotes two‑way communication, fosters organizational culture, assesses operators’ performance, and seeks continuous improvement in their work area.

Responsibilities

- Enforce safety and environmental regulations.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations within or between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Observe work and monitor indicators to ensure operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations, work, and safety procedures, or assign training to experienced workers.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Keep records of employees’ attendance and hours worked.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules,



and other records to determine production requirements and evaluate current estimates and outputs.
- Communicate daily the customer’s order status and corrective actions required to maintain schedule and quality.
- Prepare action plans to recover production or past dues.

Education and Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.

Qualifications

- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing or engineering; experience in Industrial, Automotive, Health Care, Telecommunications, Fabrication, or Electrical Power Generation a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (80% proficiency).
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP system.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of personnel recruitment, selection,



training, safety, and labor relations.
- Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology.
