Technical Vendor Coordinator (TVC) Type: Freelance / Contract

Duration: 6 months (possible renewal, reviewed Oct–Nov)

Location: Mexico — Toluca or Guadalajara (candidates based in either city preferred)

Travel: Up to 50% between project sites

Reports to: Project delivery lead / hiring manager

Role Overview The Technical Vendor Coordinator will support vendor engagement and delivery coordination across Material Handling Equipment (MHE) projects within the Mexico fulfilment network. This is a hands-on coordination role focused on keeping vendor activity, equipment schedules, and stakeholder communication on track. The coordinator will work alongside engineering, procurement, and project delivery colleagues to help keep CAPEX projects moving safely, on time, and on budget, with support and direction from an experienced manager during an initial shadowing period.

Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day vendor communication and support vendor engagement activity

Track and help manage equipment delivery schedules to site across multiple projects

Support technical project reviews and keep actions, timelines, and follow-ups on track

Monitor critical-path activities and escalate risks, delays, and issues to the project lead

Prepare and share regular project status updates for the delivery team and stakeholders

Coordinate information flow between internal departments and external vendors

Support procurement with equipment forecasting, supplier follow-up, and documentation





Deep dive into project detail and support issue resolution when required

Build strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders at all levels

Help ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with operational objectives

Travel across project locations within Mexico as required (up to 50%)

Essential Requirements

Background in Engineering, Production, or Manufacturing (or a similar technical/industrial field)

Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)

Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills — clear, timely, structured communication

Comfortable working in fast-paced operational environments

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; MS Project a plus)

Bias for action — proactive and able to progress work without waiting for every answer

Reliable and accountable — delivers on commitments

Willing to be hands-on, deep dive into detail, and learn on the job

Desirable

Exposure to logistics, fulfilment, warehouse automation, or MHE environments

Basic familiarity with conveyor installation, mechanical/electrical work, or commissioning

Project coordination fundamentals (e.g. PRINCE2 awareness or similar)

Experience coordinating across multiple vendors

Awareness of Lean / continuous-improvement methods (Kaizen, Six Sigma) — not required

Onboarding

Approximately one month shadowing the manager, after which the coordinator is expected to run day-to-day coordination independently.
