Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Process Engineer located in Guadalajara north
Reporting to the Production Manager the Process Engineer role is In charge for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to hold up a manufacturing organization.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead engineering resource planning and management activities to support operational and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain Return on Investment (ROI) calculations to support capital and operational improvement projects.
- Design and optimize manufacturing layouts, conducting capacity analysis to ensure efficient utilization of resources and production flow.
- Identify and implement opportunities for resource optimization to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Manage and coordinate CAPEX processes, including project justification, approval, implementation, and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of engineering and capital investment projects.
- Monitor project performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Define, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and parameters for robustness and repeatability
- Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting (yield, quality, scrap, downtime)
- Drive continuous improvement (cycle time, productivity, cost reduction)
- Develop and maintain process documentation and control methodologies
- Support ECO implementation and NPI transfers
- Interface with production for process deployment and stabilization
- Evaluate materials, equipment, and manufacturing techniques
- Lead or support 8Ds & RCA
- Lead or support PFMEA // DMAIC // PDCA
- Develop Drawings: Critical to Function (CTF)
- Evaluate critical specifications ANSI / ASME / AWS ( Datums - trough position)
- Customer workmanship evaluation
- Actively participate in daily production support and issue resolution
- Lead or support capital equipment justification and deployment
- Improve throughput and manufacturing capability
- Design for Manufacturing (DfM) of products
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure mechanical/electrical designs are optimized for manufacturability and testability (DfM/DfA)
- Ability to interpret and work from CAD models, schematics, and layouts
- Support layout optimization for production efficiency and quality
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or production engineering environments.
- Proven experience managing engineering resources, capital projects, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development, optimization, validation, and process control methodologies.
- Experience performing capacity analysis, line balancing, and manufacturing layout design.
- Experience developing ROI analyses and business justifications for capital investments (CAPEX).
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
- Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities using tools such as 8D, DMAIC, PDCA, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
- Experience with PFMEA, process risk assessments, and process validation activities.
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Orders (ECO), New Product Introduction (NPI), and product transfer processes.
- Experience improving yield, throughput, productivity, quality,
and cost performance in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process specifications, and control plans.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, GD&T;, and manufacturing layouts.
- Knowledge of ANSI, ASME, and AWS standards, including datums, tolerances, and position requirements.
- Experience evaluating manufacturing equipment, tooling, materials, and production technologies.
- Strong understanding of customer workmanship standards and quality requirements.
- Experience supporting daily production operations and resolving manufacturing-related issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/manufacturing software tools.
- Advanced English communication skills.
