BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking a Labor Coordinator to join our PowerDrive System business unit team. The Labor Coordinator will be responsible to ensure compliance with current labor laws, corporate policies, and internal procedures related to the organization’s labor relations. Provide advice and support to leaders and employees on labor, disciplinary, and union matters, promoting a positive work environment, regulatory compliance, and the mitigation of workplace risks.
Manages processes related to disciplinary actions, terminations, conciliations, inspections by labor authorities, internal investigations, and the follow-up on individual and collective labor disputes.
Key responsibilities
Ensure compliance with the Federal Labor Law, the Internal Labor Regulations, and other applicable regulations.
Advise leaders and functional areas on the proper application of internal policies and disciplinary procedures.
Coordinate and manage disciplinary action processes, including reprimands, suspensions, and terminations.
Address employee complaints and concerns to minimize workplace risks.
Implement the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process.
Participate in internal investigations related to violations of the Code of Conduct, company policies, and labor disputes.
Monitor and represent the company in conciliation proceedings before the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration and other competent authorities.
Manage labor relations with union representatives and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
Coordinate employee termination processes while minimizing legal and financial risks to the organization.
Handle labor inspections and requests from government authorities.
Prepare and manage labor documentation related to personnel files, contracts, agreements, and personnel changes.
Keep labor relations indicators—such as turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary actions, lawsuits, and labor disputes—up to date.
Prepare executive reports for management and the Human Resources department.
Participate in internal, corporate, and external audits by providing the required information.
Develop and deliver training sessions for leaders and employees on labor laws, internal work regulations, and corporate policies.
Actively participate in strategic Human Resources projects and organizational improvement initiatives.
Promote a positive work environment through conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms.
Manage employee services (transportation, cafeteria, lockers, and uniforms)
Actively participate in cross-functional Human Resources projects.
What we’re looking for
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in a similar position: at least 5 years in Labor Relations within manufacturing companies.
Required technical knowledge: Federal Labor Law.
Labor reform and conciliation procedures.
Union relations.
Administration of disciplinary measures.
Labor investigations.
Management of individual and collective disputes.
Human Resources metrics.
Microsoft Office.
Other requirements: Microsoft Office, SAP, Revolution, Workday (preferred).
