We're looking for a talented and experienced iSeries Engineer to join our Managed Services team at Pellera Technologies.
The iSeries Engineer will be responsible for hardware / software support, implementation of specialized software, system integrations/transitions, troubleshooting customer environments, and reviewing/recommending systems designs and implementations on the iSeries platfor.
The MSC iSeries Engineer is responsible for managing escalated backup and recovery incidents and service requests through completion.Responsibilities:Ensure the operational integrity of all client iSeries infrastructureAdministration of iSeries environments including security controls, TCP/IP , BRMS, Job control, performance and capacity planning, system and PTF updates, and license managementArchitecture and implementation of iSeries management and monitoring platformsVIO server management and implementationLPAR virtualization implementationDesign and implementation of disaster recovery and high availability solutions for iSeriesOperation of tape management solutions,



including physical and virtual tape librariesJob flow and application programing on iSeriesClient access implementation and supportDevelop operational processes and documentation for day-to-day iSeries tasksDevelop processes and documentation regarding setup and failover for iSeries customersCustomer resolution and escalation assistance callsQualifications:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)5+ years of iSeries L3/Engineering support experience in a multi-LPAR and multi-tenant environment (Managed Services preferred)iSeries / POWER platform certification preferredUnderstanding and application of backup, recovery, and high availability platforms for iSeries: BRMS, iTera, Qedd, and MiMiXStrong knowledge of support desk software with awareness of ITIL Service Desk processKnowledge and experience of defining, creating, and managing proceduresSecurity compliance experience: SOC, PCI, ISO ***** or SOX preferredTime management and organizational skillsParticipate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule responding to critical issuesPossess strong verbal and written communication skills; be adept at communicating with all levels of technical and non-technical personnelDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal developmentSelf-motivated; ability to work under minimal supervisionSuccess Characteristics:Honest, enthusiastic, respectful team player who consistently delivers quality service to team members and customers alikeFlexible, adaptable, responsible, punctual, proactive, and self-sufficientSuccessful experience with and affinity for small to large size business environmentsAbility to adapt and thrive in a dynamic work environment
