FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING LEAD
As Finance and Accounting Lead, you will manage and develop your team. As part of a small finance European organization, the position combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution and active participation in operational finance processes.
The position will be responsible for all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. In addition to managing and developing the finance team, the role requires active involvement in day-to-day accounting, controlling, and reporting activities, particularly in a lean organizational environment.
This role is critical in supporting the Managing Director with insights for decision-making and driving profitability through robust cost and management accounting practices. The adecuado candidate is a highly analytical individual with independent thinking skills and an interest in applying data-driven business judgment to advise on critical financial, commercial, and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and actively contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations.
- Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
- Support and, where required, perform day-to-day accounting, controlling, and reporting activities to ensure smooth business operations.
- Implement and lead advanced cost accounting and cost management to support profitability goals.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop objective analyses and processes that enable data-driven decisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely management reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Provide analytical support for commercial and business initiatives with strategic or financial impact for the company.
- Support cross-functional change projects aimed at improving systems, processes, and data accuracy.
- Support ERP system utilization (SAP S/4HANA) and contribute to process improvements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Lead and develop the finance team.
Experience , Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent (postgraduate diploma or master's degree is a plus).
- Proven experience in a similar finance, controlling, or accounting leadership role within an industrial sales & service company in an international group.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in financial planning and reporting processes in an international environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Strong familiarity with local accounting and tax regulations.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and profit center accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with business intelligence tools, CRM, and ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a hands-on mentality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with senior management.
- Curiosity, flexibility, critical thinking, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Results-oriented, highly motivated, and committed to achieving objectives.
- Advanced English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
