Job Description
The Universidad Tecnológica de Tlaxcala (UTTlaxcala) in Mexico has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Technical University Curriculum Development Specialist. Mexico has a growing demand for skilled professionals, and many Mexican universities are redesigning their curricula to better prepare their students for the emerging technical needs of the job market.

The PCRV will be expected to review and design program curriculums; support and advise faculty; facilitate a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage and work in a collaborative manner with those of other cultures or backgrounds; and identify opportunities to build capacity and establish national and international partnerships. The goal of this assignment is to strengthen the abilities of students to research, innovate, access professional opportunities, and collaborate internationally.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Mexico together as a group.

Candidates who are either dual citizens of Mexico and the U.S., or who were born in Mexico and became U.S. citizens after 1998, are not eligible to serve with Peace Corps Mexico. Volunteer safety is of paramount importance, and the protections of U.S. citizenship promote Volunteer safety. Under Mexican law, anyone born in Mexico who became a U.S. citizen after 1998, or anyone holding dual U.S. and Mexican citizenship, is considered a citizen of Mexico and not of the United States.
