Job SummaryDevelops, maintains, and improves all test and burn-in processes within area of responsibility.ResponsibilitiesPeriodically reviews process specifications to ensure they accurately reflect requirements and test techniques; updates specifications as required.Ensures test and burn-in processes comply with all safety specifications.Consistently reviews quality yields and develops corrective actions to eliminate yield detractors, improving process reliability.Assists with fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs (when applicable).
Ensures effective preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and daily measurement schedules for each test and burn-in process.Coordinates preventive maintenance activities and ensures they are completed on schedule.Assists engineering and development labs with new product introductions and development.Coordinates and monitors all FIMPA or product off-load activities for assigned test and burn-in processes.Ensures each test and burn-in process has a training and certification package for manufacturing and maintenance.Facilitates completion of these training packages with the appropriate engineer(s) and the Resource Development Department.Partners with Industrial Engineering on equipment moves or line re-arrangements as required.Drives recovery actions and repair of any downed test or burn-in process; coordinates with maintenance, technicians, engineers, suppliers, or spare parts analysts.Assists test engineers in developing disaster recovery plans for each test and burn-in process within the area of responsibility.Follows engineering test processes.Performs high-level repair,
formatting and "build" software per unit configuration and connects hardware between multiple units.Configures and flashes firmware on sub-assemblies and connects Ethernet between units.Understands basics of disk arrays and their setup.Troubleshoots and debugs at multiple system levels, determining workmanship errors and addressing them through quality.Performs module verification.Troubleshoots wiring of units using schematic diagrams and assembly processes.Provides first line support for workstation and line issues.Logs and records defects of units and parts and addresses trending failures.QualificationsMinimum of an Associate's degree, military technical training, or equivalent experience and training.Minimum of 6 years of related experience.Demonstrates advanced technical skills and can train or guide other employees.Highly skilled and able to move between shifts and product lines.Broad knowledge of functional techniques with input on process improvement and awareness of new technologies.Can read complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of testing and measuring instruments.Understanding of manufacturing functions and ability to train others.Serves as an expert or consultant in technical skills with other employees.Able to read, comprehend,
and interpret complex instructions.Communicates effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.Interprets technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handles variables.Determines quality and testing methods and procedures on new assignments.Can edit work or advise other employees with little to no supervision.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work that requires repetitive motion.
