The Bonds Specialist is responsible for receiving, managing, and following up on bond openings and cancellations for shipments originating from Canada and destined for Laredo or other border points. This role ensures timely bond processing and coordination between operations, carriers, customs brokers, and customers.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- Receive bonds created by shippers or carriers and compile them with invoices.
- Send bonds to the appropriate customer broker and follow up on timely bond cancellations.
- Ensure all shipment information is complete and accurate before submitting bonds for delivery.
- Respond to consignee/customer inquiries regarding bond changes, clarifications, or issues.
- Release deliveries to the consolidation dock once bond cancellations are confirmed.
- Address customer inquiries related to bond statuses when needed.
- Ensure that bonds are properly submitted and processed through the customs system.
- Monitor and follow up with brokers to confirm timely bond cancellations and receipt.
- Review daily bond deliveries to confirm timely delivery to consignees.




- Upload bond documentation into Truckmate for proper document control.
- Update system status to "customs released/complete" once a bond is released.
- Investigate discrepancies reported by terminals and determine whether bond changes are needed or track missing freight.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Canadian carriers for bond corrections and tracking bond arrivals.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Fluent in both Spanish and English (verbal and written).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or customs processing.
