We are seeking a skilled Windows system administrator to join our Quantum IT team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and fine-tuning our Windows infrastructure to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of critical systems. **Key Responsibilities**
- Administer and support Quantum IT’s Windows-based operational environment, ensuring seamless performance for business and end-user systems.
- Deploy, manage, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, leveraging scripting tools like PowerShell.
- Manage VMware ESXi environments, including vCenter high-availability clusters, datastore provisioning, and performance issue remediation.
- Monitor systems using tools (e.g., PRTG) to proactively manage and resolve incidents.
- Oversee data protection solutions (e.g., Veeam, NetBackup), reviewing daily reports to ensure compliance with data retention policies and performing restores as needed.
- Troubleshoot SAN, LAN, WAN, and network protocols to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline operations.
- Collaborate on software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to support business objectives.
- Participate in server maintenance, including patching, shutdowns, and restarts, ensuring mínimal downtime.
- Respond to service requests, performing both routine and in-depth diagnostics and resolution for Windows Server issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform off-hours maintenance as required.
- Ensure compliance with Quantum IT’s operational standards and best practices.
- Complete project tasks on time, aligning with Quantum IT’s operational goals.
**Qualifications**




- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- **Experience**: Minimum 7 years as a Windows System Administrator or similar role with expertise in Windows Server environments.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Strong skills in Windows Server deployment, management, and automation (PowerShell).
- Experience with server virtualization platforms, preferably VMware ESXi (vCenter, datastores, performance troubleshooting).
- Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG) for proactive incident management.
- Experience with data protection solutions (e.g., Veeam, NetBackup) for backups and restores.
- Understanding of SAN, LAN, WAN, and network protocols for basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with IaaS platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), including Identity and Access Management (IAM), resource group administration, virtual machine provisioning, containerization solutions, and security best practices is a plus.
- **Soft Skills**:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Proactive, versátil, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- **Additional Requirements**:
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Availability for on-call rotations and off-hours work.
- **Certifications (preferred)**: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent.
