What will you do?
The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence of the packing and shipping department.
This role involves direct supervision of a large team, ensuring all outbound logistics activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with company standards and international regulations.
The supervisor will be a critical link between strategic logistics planning and hands-on execution, directly contributing to our operational KPIs
Team Leadership & Management:
- Directly supervise and lead a team of approximately 25 factory workers in the packing and shipping area.
- Coordinate daily tasks, assign duties, and ensure optimal staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Manage shift scheduling and attendance to ensure continuous operational coverage.
Operational Performance & Monitoring:
- Monitor and drive performance against key operational metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD) and On-Time Arrival (OTA).
- Track and improve Productivity per person per hour within the packing and shipping processes.
- Implement measures to minimize damages to goods during packing and loading, and investigate incidents when they occur.
- Monitor and report on loads per day to ensure shipping targets are met.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure strict adherence to all internal quality standards, safety protocols, and external regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in and prepare for logistics audits, such as CTPAT and OEA, ensuring all documentation and processes are compliant.
- Oversee proper documentation for all outgoing shipments, including customs paperwork and shipping manifests.
Process Execution & Improvement:
- Oversee the efficient and accurate packing, labeling, and loading of finished goods for shipment.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Production, Warehouse) and external carriers to ensure smooth dispatch operations.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the packing and shipping process and propose solutions for continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, such as shipping delays, discrepancies, or carrier problems, in real-time.
Required Skills & Technical Proficiency:
- Proven hands-on experience in high-volume packing and shipping operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with international shipping procedures, freight documentation, and customs regulations.
- Experience with preparing for and participating in compliance audits (e.g., CTPAT, OEA).
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot common warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanning devices).
- Proficiency in using SAP for logistics modules (e.g., shipping, inventory management) and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a large team of factory workers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
