Job Title: Mainframe Developer (Core Banking)

Location: Hybrid in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Queretaro

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong Core Banking domain expertise to support and enhance mission-critical banking applications. The idóneo candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, and IBM Mainframe technologies, along with a solid understanding of core banking processes such as deposits, loans, payments, customer accounts, and transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, maintain, and support Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable Mainframe solutions.
- Perform coding, debugging, testing, and production support for banking applications.
- Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Optimize DB2 queries and batch jobs for performance and reliability.
- Participate in application modernization,



system upgrades, and migration initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with banking security, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe development.
- Strong programming experience with COBOL.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 database development.
- Experience with JCL, CICS, VSAM, and batch processing.
- Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of Core Banking systems.

Experience working with banking modules such as:

- Customer Information Management
- Deposits & Savings
- Loans & Lending
- Payments & Transfers
- Account Management
- Transaction Processing

Understanding of banking regulations, financial products, and banking operations.
