A. Stucki Company, through its Stucki de México operations, is seeking a hands-on and results-driven Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing and industrial engineering activities at our Monterrey facility.
This role is responsible for driving operational excellence by ensuring safe, high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective production.
The Engineering Manager provides strong technical leadership while aligning engineering initiatives with plant performance objectives and long-term business strategy.
**Position Overview**
The Engineering Manager will oversee manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, new product introduction, capital projects, and capacity planning initiatives.
The role requires balancing technical expertise with team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
This position plays a key role in supporting plant KPIs related to Safety, Delivery, Quality, Cost, and Inventory, while strengthening operational processes across multiple manufacturing technologies.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Operational & Manufacturing Support**
Lead engineering efforts to support daily production plans and ensure on-time customer delivery.
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, reduce backlog, and optimize manufacturing flows.
Improve lead times, routings, productivity, and inventory performance across raw materials, MRO, and finished goods.
**Engineering Excellence & Continuous Improvement**
Drive root cause analysis initiatives and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and ensure structured execution of improvements using Value Stream Mapping and other Lean methodologies.
**Project & Program Management**
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers following APQP methodology.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and capital expenditure budgets.
Support plant layout optimization and material flow improvements.
**Capacity & Strategic Planning**
Develop and maintain capacity planning tools, including installed and staffing capacity calculations.
Establish engineering roadmaps aligned with operational and financial objectives.
Utilize analytics and performance data to guide decision-making.
**Manufacturing Process Leadership**
Provide technical oversight across processes including casting, forging, machining, stamping, welding, assembly, heat treatment, painting, coating, and fiberglass injection.
**Quality & Compliance**
**Leadership Responsibilities**
Lead and develop the engineering team, establishing clear priorities and accountability.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational discipline.
Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to align engineering strategy with plant goals.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in rail manufacturing or heavy industrial environments such as steel, foundry, machining-intensive operations, or large-scale fabrication is preferred.
Conversational English required, with ability to participate effectively in meetings and cross-functional discussions.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and core tools.
Demonstrated experience leading production support, continuous improvement initiatives, and complex engineering projects.
Strong analytical capability and a structured, data-driven approach to problem-solving are essential.
