Job Description
The Ministry of Education (SEP) and Technological Institutes in Mexico have requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as University English Language Trainer of Trainers. For Mexican students, researchers, scientists, engineers, and other technical personnel to be able to access information and resources, and to collaborate on an international level for the benefit of their country’s sustainable economic and social development, the English capacities and skills of students and staff need to be strengthened. PCRVs have been requested to support university-level public schools at various locations in Central Mexico/Yucatan Peninsula.

The PCRVs will collaborate with English Language Coordinators and English Teachers to support students to attain communication skills in English necessary to access academic and/or professional opportunities. Successful PCRVs will support English language learning through teaching, co-planning, co-teaching, teacher training, student mentoring,



and both on and off-campus extracurricular activities with students and faculty. The PCRVs’ efforts will strengthen students’ and teachers’ abilities to research, innovate, access professional opportunities, and collaborate internationally. The goal of this assignment is to increase professors’ and students’ capacity to communicate in English for technical and academic purposes.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Mexico together as a group. Dates cannot be changed for individual candidates. Please note the projected departure date could change due to external factors.

Candidates who are either dual citizens of Mexico and the U.S., or who were born in Mexico and became U.S. citizens after 1998, are not eligible to serve with Peace Corps Mexico.
