ISP Upper School History Teacher Role Profile

Purpose of Role
An Upper School History Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, rigorous instruction in history to students (typically ages 11–18), fostering critical thinking, historical inquiry, and an understanding of past events and their relevance to the present. The role supports students’ academic growth, civic awareness, and analytical skills.

- Plan and deliver well-structured history lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Teach a range of historical periods, themes, and geographical areas
- Develop students’ skills in analysis, interpretation of sources, and argumentation
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress through assignments, exams, and feedback
