Purpose of the Position: Ensure that all purchased parts assigned to you will fully meet Nexteer expectations by developing a robust supply base capable of meeting cost, quality, launch, and delivery commitments.
Main Responsibilities Negotiates contracts for prices and terms with suppliers.
Develop and maintain sourcing strategies.
Follows market price trends and general business activities.
Manages supplier commercial issues.
Establishes annual material budget and performs monthly budget analysis.
Works with suppliers and Nexteer resources to identify, develop and implement material cost savings.
Work with Value Enhacement Managment team to develop comprehensive cost models with your supplier base and use the cost data to influence internal stake holders on design to cost concepts, negotiate price increases or cost reductions and make smarter sourcing decisions.
Job Requirements Have a Engineering degree desired MBA.
At least 5 yrs of purchasing experience.
Able to function independently with minimal supervision
