We are seeking an
On-site Food Safety Coordinator
for our client's operational BRCGS-certified manufacturing facility. This role is critical to maintaining and strengthening the food safety program, ensuring compliance with global food safety standards, and supporting high-quality production from day one. The idóneo candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and experienced in fast-paced food manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain all required
food safety documentation
in accordance with
BRCGS Issue 9
standards (floor logs, cleaning logs, checklists, pre- and post-manufacturing inventory counts, lot traceability).
Monitor and ensure compliance with
Critical Control Points (CCPs)
and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Track production trends, KPIs, targets, and efficiencies, providing data-driven insights using
Excel, Office 365, Teams, Trace, and CRM tools
.
Report non-conformities promptly
and support corrective actions.
Oversee
environmental monitoring programs
, including TPC,
E. coli
, and Salmonella swabs.
Support
emergency response and incident management drills
.
Provide guidance, training, and support to manufacturing floor staff; act as a
liaison between office and production teams
.
Adapt to a
fast-paced, changing daily schedule
, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ensure compliance with all
food safety requirements and company standards
.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum
3 years of experience
in a food manufacturing environment.
PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification
is highly desirable; SQF experience a plus.
Strong
technical skills
:
Excel, Office 365, Teams, Trace, CRM, and data reporting.
Excellent
attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
.
Flexible, adaptable
, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish
preferred.
Strong
work ethic
and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable with
standing/walking throughout the day.
Candidates must be located in
Tijuana
; transportation assistance from the border to the facility may be provided in the morning.
US workpermit and experience crossing border ;must be authorized to work in US
Not Food allergies, especially to spices.
Selection Process
First interview:
In-person at the facility (1 hour)
Work Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)
Vacation: 10 business days a year
Holidays: 5 National Holidays a year
Company Holidays: 5 Company Holidays a year (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Zipdev Day)
