We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in the manufacturing industry to join our team in Guadalajara. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, compliance with U.S. GAAP and Mexican regulations, and provides critical insights into cost, inventory, and operational performance.
The idóneo candidate will be detail-oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams such as operations, supply chain, and finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Lead day-to-day accounting operations including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
Manage cost accounting activities: standard cost development, variance analysis, and manufacturing performance reporting.
Oversee inventory accounting (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to analyze material, labor, and overhead costs, identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and local Mexican tax regulations (IVA, ISR, DIOT, payroll taxes).
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual financial closings.
Manage fixed assets accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking.
Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and financial reports.
Prepare and present financial reports, KPIs, and cost performance metrics to management.
Drive process improvements and system optimization within ERP (Dynamics or equivalent).
Mentor junior accounting staff and support cross-functional financial training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification a plus.
5–7 years of accounting experience,
with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and COGS analysis.
Solid experience with U.S. GAAP and Mexican tax compliance.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) and ERP systems (Dynamics or similar).
Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico and currently residing in the country.
