ummary of the Division
As part of the Publishing Operations function, the Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the high‐quality, on‐time and within‐budget delivery of print and digital components and materials for ELT courses. Working from final/developed content to handover of final files and go live, the team collaborates closely with cross‐functional
s
takeholders to implement Delivery best practices, workflows, tools, and templates that maximise efficiency and effectiveness across the publishing process.
The team also
s
upports product development and post‐publication maintenance and plays a critical role in
s
afeguarding delivery, quality, and
s
upplier relationships.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the delivery of high‐quality, on‐time and within‐budget print and digital components for ELT courses. You will manage components and assets from final/developed content through to handover of final files and go live, working across both internally resourced and fully outsourced (packaged) projects.
Depending on experience and
s
cope, the role may include
acting as a delivery lead on projects, mentoring or line managing Managing Editors, and contributing to team‐wide priorities, improvements, and resourcing discussions
.
You will work closely with colleagues in Publishing Operations and across other functions as part of a project team to ensure titles are delivered to brief, on
s
chedule, and within budget.
Role Responsibilities
Delivery & Project Ownership
Manage delivery across assigned projects and components from
s
ample materials through to
s
ign‐off and project closure
Own and manage the Delivery workflow from approved content through to publication/go live, including:
Manuscript preparation
Preparing and finalising artwork briefs and audio
s
cripts
Participating in copy‐editing and proofreading where required
Track all delivery tasks across project
s
chedules, anticipating risks and delays, proposing mitigation, and keeping Project Managers and
s
takeholders fully informed
Coordinate proof circulations and digital releases, collating feedback and managing queries
Participate in post‐publication evaluation to identify lessons learned and improvements
Act as an advocate for Delivery best practice, consistency, and quality
Project

Review and feed back on Delivery tasks within project

chedules as part of team‐wide
s
chedule validation
Work with Publishing and Project Managers to create and maintain:
Acceptance criteria (including for packagers)
Approval forms,
s
tyle
s
heets, page plans
Media logs, archive handover documentation
Authoring templates, mapping documents, and other key delivery documentation
Financial & Risk Management
S
upport preparation of Delivery budgets by providing cost estimates at approval
s
tages
Monitor Delivery
s
pend across assigned components and assets
Flag cost risks early, raise Change Requests as required, and
s
upport mitigation
Proactively identify opportunities to control or reduce Delivery costs while protecting quality
Freelance &
S
upplier Management
Engage, brief, and proactively manage freelancers and
s
uppliers in line with project needs
Ensure
s
upplier engagement follows agreed policies, preferred
s
uppliers, rates, and contracting guidelines
Coordinate contracts, POs, onboarding,
s
ystem access, and training where required
Review
s
upplier outputs for quality and alignment to brief
Escalate delivery, quality, or conduct issues appropriately and in a timely way
Proactively use
s
uppliers to mitigate resourcing gaps when appropriate
Leadership, Mentoring & Team Contribution

Act as delivery lead or

enior point of contact on assigned projects
Support, mentor, and/or line manage Managing Editors as applicable
Support onboarding of new Delivery team members
Contribute to identifying

kills gaps, development needs, and training priorities
Share knowledge and experience across the Delivery team to build consistency and expertise

ystems, Process & Continuous Improvement
Ensure Delivery data, documentation, and milestones are accurately maintained in company
s
ystems
Actively identify workflow inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities to reduce manual input
Contribute to development and validation of Delivery workflows, tools, and
s
ystem improvements
Support team‐wide initiatives led by Delivery management as required
Market Awareness & Professional Development
Maintain awareness of Macmillan Education'

Keep up to date with ELT and international publishing trends

Experience,
S
kills & Qualifications
Degree‐level education or equivalent experience
Proven experience delivering large‐
s
cale print and/or digital publishing projects
Strong organisational and editorial
s
kills, with high attention to detail
Experience managing multiple components and assets
s
imultaneously
Commercial and financial awareness, including budget tracking and risk management
Experience working with freelancers and external
s
uppliers
Confident working across
s
ystems and CMS tools (InCopy/InDesign a plus)
Ability to manage ambiguity and change in complex delivery environments
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross‐functional teams
Line‐management or mentoring experience is an advantage, but not essential
