Consultant- Program Officer– Strengthening Legal Representation for Workers and Unions in Mexico (CAN) Program
ABA ROLI is an international non-profit organization that implements legal reform and rule of law programs in over 40 countries worldwide. ABA ROLI has nearly 400 professional employees working abroad and at its Washington, DC office. ABA ROLI's host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice, and a wide range of civil society organizations, including human rights groups.
Job Description:
Program Officer
The Consultant will report to the ABA ROLI Mexico Country Director and the Canada Program Manager. This person will be responsible for assisting in the daily administration and execution of work to ensure tasks are completed on time and effectively.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities:
Support the Project Manager of the
Strengthening Legal Representation for Workers and Unions in Mexico
program in liaising with consultants, counterpart authorities, and project beneficiaries.
Assist the Project Manager in reviewing and developing curricula, meeting minutes, evaluations, and updating the content of the educational platform.
Support the Project Manager with programmatic, administrative, logistical, and MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) responsibilities.
Assist in covering training sessions and related responsibilities.
Attend in-person project activities to support the Project Manager.
Respond to communications with ABA ROLI staff.
Provide additional support as needed and required by ABA ROLI Mexico.
Basic Qualifications:
University degree in Law from an accredited college or university.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to plan, organize, implement, and report progress while working under pressure.
Professional-level Spanish (spoken and written).
Professional fluency in English (spoken and written).
Organized, detail-oriented, professional, efficient, ethical, responsible, reliable, and adaptable.
Strong communication skills, ability to use discretion when handling confidential documents and information, and capability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Availability to travel while coordinating and managing program activities.
Experience in labor law-related projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work within set deadlines and adapt to change.
Ability to gather information from relevant sources through research.
Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive data and information.
High level of personal responsibility and a proactive approach to tasks.
Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
Experience assisting in programmatic projects.
Experience in monitoring and compliance with indicators.
Experience collaborating on international projects.
Experience engaging with a variety of civil society organizations and private sector actors.
Management of virtual platforms (social media and virtual classrooms).
