Job Description Summary
As a Staff Engineer in Integrated Manufacturing Engineering, you will be the technical owner for the new-make manufacturing of combustor and structural components across the CF34 product line, spanning both GE shops and sourced hardware. You will solve complex manufacturing and producibility challenges, drive cost and quality improvements, and strengthen the Engineering–Supply Chain partnership to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
You will operate on the front line of the Integrated Manufacturing Engineering (IME) organization, using Flight Deck principles to improve supply chain health, enhance producibility, and enable the business to reliably meet customer commitments.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead design and producibility improvements
for assigned combustor and structural components, ensuring robust, cost-effective manufacturability in both GE Aerospace and supplier facilities.
Execute engineering analyses and collaborate
with multiple disciplines (Manufacturing, Quality, other Engineering organizations) by using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability, yield, and technical robustness.
Drive Class II design changes and producibility enhancements
, including cost reduction initiatives, scrap/repair reduction, and cycle-time improvements for production components.
Own and support manufacturing engineering technologies processes
, including:
Leading PPRs and owning SPS/SPR documentation
Driving S-065 MRB dispositions and making recommendations for S-074 dispositions
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
to improve process capability, reduce losses, and resolve manufacturing issues; provide




on-site support and troubleshooting
as needed.
Support vendor qualification and hardware delivery
, including process reviews, capability assessments, and production readiness activities.
Lead or contribute to investigations
, including SPMT investigations, to address quality issues, escapes, or recurring manufacturing problems; implement durable corrective actions.
Collaborate closely with ID&B; hardware owners
to:
Communicate new or unusual manufacturing conditions and process changes
Understand field performance and connect manufacturing drivers to part performance and ICA
Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
, sharing best practices in design for manufacturability, problem solving, and supply-chain engagement.
Challenge entrenched processes
using engineering judgment and data to propose and implement continuous improvement actions aligned to SQDC and Flight Deck methodologies.
Travel to manufacturing sites
(GE and suppliers) to gain and maintain a practical understanding of hardware, processes, and shop-floor realities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Demonstrated problem-solving experience
, with the ability to structure and drive technical investigations to closure.




Proven experience leading programs or projects
, with established
project management skills
(planning, prioritization, risk management, stakeholder communication).
Effective communication skills
, including the ability to clearly convey technical content to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design

Legal authorization to work in Mexico

Desired Characteristics
Experience in design of aerospace components
, preferably combustor or structural hardware.
Manufacturing experience
, ideally with aerospace components, and familiarity with shop processes, routings, and process controls.
Experience with

Training or practical experience with
