Advocates for World Health (AWH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare access in under-resourced communities around the world. We recover donated medical equipment and supplies from hospitals, surgery centers, and healthcare providers across the U.S., and distribute these lifesaving resources to those in need. Our operations are anchored in Tampa, Florida, but our impact is integral.
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Donor Relations Specialist to join our growing international team, working from Mérida, Mexico. This individual will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers to increase donations of medical equipment and supplies to our Tampa facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement: Initiate and maintain professional relationships with hospitals, surgery centers, clinics, and other healthcare providers to secure product donations.
- Lead Generation: Identify potential new donors in the healthcare sector through research, outreach, and referrals.
- Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison between donors and our U.S. operations team, ensuring consistent communication and donor satisfaction.
- Coordination & Logistics:
Work with the Tampa logistics team to facilitate the collection and shipment of donated items.
- Reporting: Track donor interactions and maintain accurate records in the organization’s CRM system.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal departments to align donation goals with global distribution needs.
- Growth & Development: Take part in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. This role includes long-term potential for advancement and leadership.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal communication)
- Previous experience in sales, donor relations, fundraising, or healthcare outreach preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to relationship building
- Comfort working remotely while coordinating with a U.S.-based team
- Commitment to the mission and values of Advocates for World Health
