What you’ll do:
- Design, test and release production seatbelt system designs
- Manage the release of the design through the Autoliv design change process
- Position requires ability to manage Customer relationships related to product development and implementation.
- Engineering background with good problem-solving skills, hands-on approach to development, testing, sample builds, teardowns, developing fixtures for testing and developing new test methodology.
- Active member of cross-functional team of design engineers, purchasing, quality, process and launch engineers.
- Work closely with Program Management as point contact to customers.
- Release internal component drawings, assembly drawings and customer drawings.
- Support the Autoliv Product Development System by releasing engineering documents related to product design/development such as DFMEA’s, DV/PV test reports, etc.
- Work with team members to coordinate projects from design through production startup including prototype/pre-production builds, testing and establishment of specifications.
- Responsible for supporting all technical processes including VA/VE and benchmarking.
- Create and run DV/PV test series to meet internal and customer requirements.
- Analyze test data, summarize results and create presentations.
- Attend conferences which could take place before or after normal working hours.
- Bring customer needs to organization and vice versa.
- Maintain company image both internally and externally.
- Document technical aspects of assigned projects and ensure that data is properly retained.
What is required:
- 2–5 years of experience in the automotive industry
- Experience in product design and/or engineering roles
- Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree
- English: Minimum B2 level (mandatory)
- Root cause analysis expertise (RCA)
- Strong technical background and ability to interpret technical specifications
- Knowledge and application of 8D methodology
- Understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge
- Experience with design tools (preferably CATIA)
