Housekeeping – Supervisory & Management Roles

Positions: 1st Housekeeper | Assistant Chief Housekeeper | Chief Housekeeper

Position Overview

We are recruiting experienced housekeeping leaders for luxury and ultra-luxury cruise lines, responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations onboard.

These roles ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction across cabins, public areas, and crew accommodations.

Key Responsibilities

1st Housekeeper

- Supervise daily housekeeping operations across assigned areas
- Lead and coordinate stateroom attendants and utility staff
- Ensure cabins and public areas meet company quality standards
- Conduct inspections and maintain consistency in service delivery
- Support training and development of housekeeping staff
- Handle guest requests and resolve service issues

Assistant Chief Housekeeper

- Support the Chief Housekeeper in managing overall housekeeping operations
- Oversee multiple housekeeping sections (cabins, public areas, laundry)
- Monitor staff performance, scheduling, and daily operations
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and company standards
- Assist in inventory control, linen management, and operational planning
- Handle escalated guest concerns and operational challenges

Chief Housekeeper

- Lead and manage the entire housekeeping department onboard
- Oversee all operations including cabins, public areas, and laundry
- Ensure consistent delivery of luxury-level cleanliness and service standards
- Manage large multicultural teams and departmental structure
- Control budgets, inventory, and operational costs
- Develop training programs and maintain performance standards




- Handle high-level guest issues and ensure overall guest satisfaction

Working Conditions

- 10–11 hours per day
- 7 days per week
- High-pressure environment with strict quality expectations

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

1st Housekeeper

- Minimum 3–5 years in housekeeping operations
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in cabins and/or public areas

Assistant Chief Housekeeper

- Minimum 5–7 years in housekeeping




- At least 2–3 years in management or multi-area supervision
- Experience overseeing cabins, public areas, and/or laundry

Chief Housekeeper

- Minimum 7–10+ years in housekeeping
- At least 3–5 years in senior management roles
- Proven experience managing full housekeeping operations and large teams

Ship Experience

- Mandatory for all roles
- Candidates must have prior cruise ship experience in similar or lower roles
- Strong onboard operational knowledge required

Skills

- Strong leadership and team management
- Advanced knowledge of housekeeping operations (cabins, public areas, laundry)
- Ability to manage:
- Inspections and quality control
- Staff scheduling and performance
- Inventory, linen control, and supplies
- Guest complaints and service recovery
- Understanding of sanitation and hygiene standards (USPH)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in high-demand environments

Language

- English: B2–C1 minimum (advanced level required)
- Strong communication and guest interaction skills

General Requirements

- CV in English (Harvard format), updated with no gaps
- Minimum 2 verifiable reference letters
- Valid passport
- Availability to work:
- 10–11 hours per day
- 7 days per week
- High level of professionalism, discipline, and attention to detail
